THINK Forums
Do you find it difficult to keep abreast of all the latest thinking? Do you want to be a part of commissioning research that could transform your effectiveness? Would you like to spend more time with the brightest brains in your sector? Do you feel your area of fundraising is not as well understood as it should be?
If your answer to any of these questions is “yes”, then a THINK Forum could well be the answer! We started the Forum concept in 2005, when we launched the Community Forum, which looks to promote cutting edge thinking in community fundraising. Now in its fourth year, it goes from strength to strength.
That Forum has been joined by the Irish Community Forum and we are about to launch a Digital Forum. We’re also examining ideas for a Supporter Services Forum.
These Forums are run for you, with your and our inputs and with concrete outputs. If you have ideas for other forums, let us know and we’ll take a look.
The aims of each Forum are quite simple:
- Sharing information about what’s going on in that area of fundraising, across the sector and across the globe
- Strategic support, addressing key strategic issues facing fundraisers
- Tactical and practical support to address immediate or ongoing issues facing that area of fundraising
- Influencing the voluntary sector to ensure the full value of that fundraising area is realised
- Individual Personal Development – ensuring there are opportunities to share skills and develop the professional capacity of members
We’re tough on ourselves too. We monitor the forums closely to ensure that we achieve:
- Benefits for the sector (money)
- Benefits for individual organisations (money, processes, relationships)
- Benefits for individuals (personal development)
Growing membership suggests that we’re getting it about right!
