THINK Foundation supported projects
The THINK Foundation has supported a range of projects since its inception. This overview aims to provide a feel of the range of support provided.
Projects supported in 2009
The single biggest investment that the THINK Foundation has ever made happened in early 2009 with the development of the Fundraising HealthCheck.
The Fundraising HealthCheck is a free, confidential interactive online diagnostic tool that was designed to help charities to understand the impact of the recession on their income portfolios over the coming years. THINK decided to develop it in recognition of the growing need for strategic fundraising advice and support as the UK rides out its worst recession for decades.
To create the Fundraising HealthCheck, THINK pooled input from all consultants, drawing on their experience, expertise and time. The outcome is a tool that provides a clear picture of a charity’s current fundraising practice and investment portfolio, that offers practical advice and recommendations for developing and planning fundraising programmes and investment strategies.
It is simple to use yet sophisticated and suitable for charities of all sizes that wish to check the viability of their fundraising. It is providing maximum benefit for small to medium sized charities that do not have a corporate business infrastructure or previous recession experience to draw from, nor the funds to seek professional consulting advice.
It was launched in February 2009 in partnership with Institute of Fundraising and since its launch it has been updated in June 2009 to reflect the impact of the economic downturn, drawing on research reports and anecdotal trends from THINK’s work with a range of clients across the sector.
