Institute of Fundraising Scotland Conference
Tony Elischer will open the Institute of Fundraising Scotland Conference with his plenary session on Futurology, sharing his thinking on trends, opportunities and predictions for the future. He will share his thoughts on what is shaping and what could shape the future of fundraising success; what donors are doing and thinking, how digital is impacting on programmes, what strategy will work in the future, and many other creative and original thoughts to stimulate, challenge and feed fundraiser’s thinking. Fundraisers in Scotland will be led and encouraged to look outside at the wider world to see what might happen next and how to stay ahead of the market. Tony will make this task easier with a sixty minute guide to the future that fundraisers in Scotland will never forget.
Mafe Marwick will be running a workshop on Glocalisation, inviting delegates to “think global, act local”. While globalisation gives us access to knowledge and charities from the whole world, it is bringing with it the wish for donors to support more local projects. By showing the latest examples of how charities are approaching glocalisation in the UK and beyond, and by engaging delegates with practical exercises, Mafe will look at how we can create local communities of support and engagement around the services and projects we fundraise for, while responding to the challenge of competing with charities all over the world.
And most importantly, we are delighted to once again sponsor the Conference Bursary Programme. This year we have funded 4 bursary places allowing smaller not for profit organisations to attend the conference and increase their skills and knowledge concerning sources of funding and fundraising techniques.
It’s an investment in something we believe in: that fundraisers’ personal commitment and enthusiasm will be more effective if they also have professional skills and expertise.
We hope to see you there!
