Michelle is a highly experienced fundraising and marketing professional with a proven track record in major account management and generating capital and revenue funding through the full mix of Leadership Giving (HNWI, Corporates & Foundations).
She has a unique blend of experience that combines commercial sector experience with not-for-profit roles and mixes mainstream charity with the education and heritage sectors. She has worked with partners and organisations in both North America and Europe, breaking down cultural barriers and building and managing global teams.
Michelle’s career started at WaterAid before leaving the sector to work for the international media group Informa Plc where she project managed conferences and exhibitions throughout Europe. She returned to the not-for-profit sector leading development teams at The Science Museum, University of Salford, NSPCC, Shelter, Leeds Metropolitan University, Museum of Science & Industry and Vegan Society.
Michelle has an entrepreneurial spirit that has helped her establish completely new operations in both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors, delivering impact quickly, often within large complex organisations. She is good at identifying opportunities and thinking outside the box and has experience of devising and implementing organisation wide policies, procedures and process to support the fundraising function, as well as devising management structures to deliver the organisational fundraising ambitions and potential.
As a genuine ‘hands on’ practitioner she secured and managed a number of multi-million pound long-term gifts and partnerships in the High Education and Heritage sectors.
Her unique insight into philanthropy and partnerships across mainstream charities, higher education and the heritage sector has helped develop and deliver effective strategies, sustainable income and innovative approaches to secure and retain support.
She enjoys mentoring and coaching individuals and working with teams to help them realise their potential.
