The Third Sector Leadership Survey (UK)
The Third Sector Leadership Survey, produced by Baker Tilly, features responses from 487 organisations. It covers a range of charities in terms of income, geographical spread and area of activity so can be said to be representative of the diverse nature of the UK third sector. In the survey they set out to identify what is good practice and if the sector was ready to meet future challenges.
The survey supports the idea that there is wide adherence to good governance practices and that standards have moved forward during the last decade compared with analysis conducted over that period. However, despite the continued improvement in leadership standards there is enough evidence to suggest that there is a need for structural change and for leadership capacity building.
