Myles thrives on helping organisations deliver good solutions to complex problems.  With over twenty years’ experience as a project and organisational leader, Myles understands how to make sure fundraising and income generation sits at the heart of any successful organisation. With a firmly rooted background in fundraising (developing his career with the Princes Trust, RNLI and St John Ambulance), Myles has substantial knowledge and skills in all fundraising disciplines, with specific expertise in corporate, high-level giving and capital / large-scale appeal fundraising.  Importantly, he led the reshaping in those organisations of how fundraised income linked to operational activities – initiating the first ever crew training revenue based appeal at the RNLI and establishing a new operations framework at St John Ambulance. Myles has implemented new, bold and ultimately successful income generation plans – ensuring they are cemented into wider organisational planning.

When at CLIC Sargent, he led on the organisation’s entire merger process – working across the organisation, linking donors, staff, volunteers and beneficiaries alike – bringing together all stakeholders around a shared vision and organisational values. He has significant governance experience – both as a CEO at Garden Organic and as a Trustee himself.  He has led on a substantial charity re-structure and governance review, and been instrumental in supporting many other charities do the same.  At the heart of Myles’s beliefs pumps the importance of bringing people and process together.  Any well-laid plan only works if you bring the hearts and minds of your stakeholders with you.

Recently, Myles has led the nation’s School Food Plan, working across government, charities and the corporate sector to improve food culture in schools.  Collaboration and partnership working has been at the core of this success.  Working with many campaigning charities, he brokered policy change across government departments, including health, education, environment and the cabinet office; critically, using examples of fundraised innovation and packaging up convincing argument for change. Myles brings energy and passion to the work he does; he works effectively across organisations, from Trustees and senior management through to wider organisational communications.  An experienced orator and facilitator, Myles can help ensure that new plans, with effective fundraising at its core, come successfully to life.
