‘Tis the season…
To put your money where your mouth is and make sure any christmas cards you send have a charity link. Ideally support the charity you work for by buying their cards – there must be at least one design in the range you like! – but alternatively choose from the host of charity cards available on the high street through a multitude of retailers, to suit all purses and design preferences. Or seek out the increasing number of ecards supporting charity.
And get your family and friends to do so too.
Why am I asking you to do this? Well the sale of Christmas cards directly by a charity and the income earned from being a beneficiary of a retailer’s charity card range generate hundreds of thousands of pounds for the charity sector each year – and beyond that provides valuable exposure for those benefiting charities in people’s homes throughout the festive season, a time when charitable giving is traditionally at a high. This is the easiest way for anyone to support charity – and if as professionals in the sector we don’t bother to do it, how can we expect anyone else to.
So make sure you think charity when deciding whether its snowmen, santa or sleigh rides that you’ll send this year – oh and by the way, the last posting date is 18 December!
